With our many years of fruit growing experience, it has allowed us to use this knowledge to introduce many initiatives at our orchard to grow and harvest beautiful cherries. Specialised pruning programs, soil moisture monitoring, focused irrigation practices, hydro cooling “off the tree”, straw mulching to conserve water and reduce weed growth combined with specific fruit varieties are just some of the many things we have implemented that now deliver great results – consistently.

Wandin Valley Farms have two orchards, one in the North East of Victoria at Boweya 2.5 hours north of Melbourne, and one in the Southern part of Tasmania at Rosegarland, approximatley 45 mins north west of Hobart.

Our Boweya farm commences harvest around the start of November each year and finishes in late December at which time our Rosegarland farm commences harvest. This allows us to deliver beautiful, high quality cherries thro' to late January/early February each year.

Some of our varieties include: Merchant, Chelan, Rons Seedling, Bing, Sylvia, Simone, Lapins, Sweetheart and Sweet Georgia.

Wandin Valley Farms was announced as the winner of the 'Biggest and Best Cherries' Competition held on 20 Nov 2012 at the Cherry Auction Breakfast held at the Queen Victoria Market , organised for the Melbourne City Mission and Variety Charities. The 5kg box of Merchant cherries was voted the winner by 3 leading Melbourne Chefs , who donated their time and expertise to this charity event.

As a pastry Chef, I was really privileged to be a judge for *The Biggest and Best Cherry Auction' at the Vic Market*

“In a blind tasting of the same product, it is always difficult to distinguish a significant differences between one box and another. But one box did stand out and that was the fantastic cherries from Wandin Valley Farms. The other cherries were all good, but their's were great” Ian Curley - European / The Melbourne Supper Club / City Wine Shop / Siglo

Keep up the great work. - Matteo Pignatelli - Matteo's Restaurant
